On the subject of tubes,...who is the best outfit to get tubes from other than the music store where you bought your amps, guys? I see Tube Depot,Amplified Parts,RF Parts, etc.
RF Parts may be more for ham radio tubes and high power broadcast radio transmitter tubes, but I would think you can get amp tubes from them as well! :?:

My sources:

http://www.eurotubes.com/

http://www.tubedepot.com

http://thetubestore.com/

https://www.kcanostubes.com/

Only one I have not checked out is thetubestore.com,...I am familiar with the others as I have checked out their sites already. Bill,...I have been in contact with Tube Depot,...and they have actually recommended that I go with the Tung-Sol 6L6 STR tubes
for my HRD III. Even when I was thinking about going with a BDRI amp,...they recommended the same tubes for that as well. Being a ham radio operator,it's always a good idea to have spare parts on hand,...so my thinking here is why not have spare tubes on hand for the amp should a tube fail. I have also learned from a few youtube videos I have seen that when you replace one power tube,it's suggested you replace BOTH at same time,...and if necessary,...rebias the amp. Thanks loads for the suggestions! :) As for replacement tubes,...I'm going with the Tung-Sols per Tube Depot's recommendations. I may very well buy my tubes from them! I get to talking about tubes,I can't stop!

That's not a suggestion, its almost mandatory today due to the wide production tolerances in modern tubes compared to vintage ones.

+1

Buy and install them as matched sets whenever possible.

I can assure you they WILL be a matched set! That is the only way Tube Depot sells them anyway,...as a matched pair!
