Hey everyone. Im fairly inexperienced with these amps as I usually only play acoustic or practice on a mini solid state amp.

That said I just purchased a BDRI second hand from someone and I'd like to make sure theres noting unusually wrong before its too late. It has a buzzing static sound when the guitar is plugged in and not playing or palm muted. Is this normal?

I dont recall having this issue on my baby marshall and its kind of frustrating but I guess not a big deal. Is it possible its my guitars pickups instead? When I turn the guitars volume pots down all the way the buzzing stops but the buzzing doesnt seem to decrease in volume between 1-10. Either its there or its not. Tried a couple different cables and that didnt seem to fix the issue either

Thanks for any replies! Im new here. I love the sound on this thing, I hope this is normal X-(

What type of pickups does your guitar have?

Ok update... I was toying around trying to figure out why and then I realized that the buzzing doesnt only stop when I touch the strings, its when I touch anything metal on the guitar O_O.

The $@!&? haha is there something I can do besides always resting my palm against the tail piece?

You probably have a bad ground in your guitar.

Try a high-quality shielded instrument cable as well.

You don't need to shield anything if you fix the ground.

As I Am, welcome to the forum. Yes, you prolly have a ground loop issue in the guitar's wiring. Your hand is actually breaking this loop, due to inherent capacitance of your body. Check the pot wiring and solder points to all the guitar's metal pieces.

Good luck!
