So guys, the clean channel is FENDER SWEET! No Scratchy pots, noises, reverb is good, tubes are new, biased perfectly.

But, switch the channel switching button and YUCK!!! Motorboating!!!!!

I've read all about C34/C35 being the culprit.

Has anyone had direct experience with this issue and these Caps?

Here we go again.

Is this amp the Hot Rod Deluxe on which you just installed new input jacks?
What do you mean by motor-boating?
Where did you "read all about" the caps being the problem?

Heres a video of what I refer to in my initial question

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDeXlQIvqco

Heres a link from TGP showing one guys success by changing C35 as described by comments on the You Tube Video Above.

C34 is in the Hot Rod Deville. It is not a component in the Hot Rod Deluxe.

C35 is the supply for the phase inverter and if that were the problem you would hear it regardless of which channel you are using.

C36 feeds V1 and V2 and again, if it were bad, I believe you would hear it in both channels.

Please provide a recording of your problem, not someone else's that sounds like it.

From the TGP thread:

"TP1 - V1A plate voltage is supposed to be 196mv - I read 260V
TP5 - V1B Plate voltage is supposed to be 324mv - I read 262V
And so on for all the tubes."

TomN009 has no idea what he is doing. He just "shotgunned" it and got lucky.

The YouTube Video IS MY audio essentially. It is the same EXACT sound and only happens when the same drive channel button is pushed / engaged. If you are hearing the audio in that video, you are hearing my amp, no joke, no variables, no sort of, or almost like my amp.

Well, then, if you are convinced C35 is the problem, replace it.

The issue is not being convinced, nor was that the question. The original question was "has anyone else had similar experiences" .....................

If I'm lucky I'll have someone else chime in.......Come on 7/11 :D

Then I guess you don't want/need help solving your problem. The video and TGP thread are your solution. Ok. Bye.

One thing added when switching to the drive channel is half of V2. You might try swapping V1 and V2 for starters, or just try a new tube in V2.

It's not about being right, it's about following a logical trouble shooting methodology. Parts that are common to multiple things aren't just going to affect one of those things regardless of what the experts on YouTube claim. As shimmilou noted, 1/2 of V2 is used exclusively in the drive/more drive circuit. I suggest you investigate what is going on in that circuit. You've eliminated the tube itself, but there are other components in that circuit that may be bad, out of spec, fried, etc.

Bill - Exactly. I plan on sittin in the garage and looking at it tonight after work to get a clearer picture of what might be going on. I'm thinkin also there may be an issue with the switch itself maybe a bad solder joint..... :?: :?:
