I am making life difficult for myself. I am playing and having lessons agian and my Vox Cambridge has given up on me. Too many knocks and moves. I am looking too buy a new amp and I really like the Fender clean tone, I was initially sold on the Super Champ but am getting drawn to Frontman 212R and Blues jr. also. I know these are solid state, the shop has a limited amount of amps (small) and I have only tried the Vibro Champ. I tried a line 6 and hated it. My budget is small hence i looked at the superchamp and FM 212R but should I go the extra mile and look at the Blues JR also. I am in the UK so Superchamp will cost me about $400 and the Frontman 212R about $340 and the Blues Jr about $650. Hell I hate living here sometimes.

The Blues Jr. is a tube amp and is an excellent amp for the money.

The Pro Jr. and Blues Jr. are both tube amps, and both are excellent; great tones, great price. I personally prefer the Blues Jr. over the Pro Jr.

Also; I don't know where you live (obviously someplace with limited access to different equipment) but if you can find an old Fender Blackface or Silverface Champ (or Vibro-Champ), they're really good-sounding amps with a lot of soul.

Although this is probably sacrilege (talking about another amp company on this forum) but the Crate V-Series Tube amps have some pretty cool tones happening as well--not exactly "Fender", but kinda "Fender-y".

Good Vibes To You!

Compare tube amps to the solid state amps to see what fits your type if music. I never really cared for solid state amps, but you might. I have a 76 SilverFace Champ that I've recorded with since I bought it. It sounds awesome through both 1x12 or 2x10 cab. You just need to put s 1/4" jack for the speaker output. Good luck.

 That's me to a tee.

I personally was torn between the SCXD and the Blues Jr. I think they are both excellent amps. In the store, I went back and forth between the two. In the end, however, I took the SCXD for the versatility. However I don't believe you could go wrong with either.
