Need to change the middle tone knob on my USA Blues Deluxe does anybody know where I can purchase this pot. Tubes and more.com has a volume pot, part number R-VHD-250K. Will this work for a tone pot as well. If not, what do you recommend?

The knobs are are all the same as each other. The pots however are different values depending on position. The "Middle" pot is a 25K ohm, B-taper, while the "Volume" pot is 250K ohm, 15A-taper, but all pots are physically the same as all of the other pots.

So, is it the knob or the pot that you want to change?

Did you try spraying the contacts with Deoxit? Sometimes that does wonders!

Don't replace a noisy pot , clean it . Like Miami Mike write , Deoxit or any good quality contact cleaner WITH lubricant will do the job . But first , amp OFF ,turn the knob at least 20 times, full turn . This often clean the pot .

Rotating the pot is definitely worth a shot. If cleaning the pot is necessary, there is even a hole at the top of the pot, accessible by removing the back cover from the amp, as seen in the upper left of this picture.

Thanks for the tip! I will try cleaning first.
Does anyone know if these pots in this amp are linear taper? I am reading they are but, I spoke with Fender yesterday and was told the only pot that is linear in this amp is the "presence" pot. I would at least like to change out the volume and master volume if indeed they are linear. I have read the article at guitarless.com by Gerry Hayes, and in that article he is changing the "master" volume. According to Fender it's not a linear pot? Also the master volume pot is a 10A,1 meg pot, not 250K. I'm confused?

The Middle and Reverb pots are linear, as is the Master except on the reissue it is linear. The Presence is a reverse taper. All the rest are some kind of audio or reverse taper, as they are supposed to be according to their function in the amp.

The Master on the originals is 1 Meg 10A taper, but later changed to 100K linear taper.

Some people are FOS, leave the pots alone and learn how to use them properly.

The schematic lists the taper for each pot.

Yes, you are. There is a Master pot, and there is a Volume pot.

Good news . Contact cleaner is THE tool in basic electronic . Pots need to be turn very often to keep them clean
