Any information available on running a Fender SFX Satellite with a Blues Junior, which does not have an effects send/return.

The Satellite SFX doesn't have a guitar-level preamp -- it needs to see a line-level input (like that provided by the preamp-out of an FX loop). To use it with an amp that doesn't have an FX loop, you'd need to put some sort of splitter in front of the amp (A/B/Y box or a simple Y cable), run one of the splitter's cables to the amp and the other cable to some sort of preamp and then into the Satellite SFX.

Some of the Satellite SFX's effects are stereo and meant to feed back into the main amp via the loop, but back when I had one I preferred to run my main amp dry with just the connection from the preamp out to the Satellite and no connection back from the Satellite's out to the main amp's power-amp in. So you can use the Satellite with an amp that has no FX loop (as long as you split the signal in front of the main amp and boost the signal with a preamp).

The Satellite has lots of cool spacious sounds, but is a little handicapped by its lack of a speed control for the modulation effects. It's also prone to ground loops that add a loud hum (but if you use something like a Radial Big Shot ABY you can use the iso transformer and ground lift to avoid ground loops).

I kind of miss mine a little, but using two regular amps with a stereo effects pedal gives a lot more versatility -- more control over the speed of the modulation effects, plus being able to use the second amp as a backup if your main amp craps out. Also, the Satellite is huge (deep) because of its sideways-mounted speaker. (OTOH, Satellites are often dirt-cheap -- you can find them for much less than the cost of a good stereo pedal, much less a good pedal + a decent second amp.)

Thanks for the info. I also have a Session Rockette that has an effects in/out but that didn't sound too good, and a Pig nose that I may try to get in the action. I love that little thing!
