Is there a new Twin amp on the horizon. I think a received either an email or saw an ad
about a new Twin amp. It had the cream tolex covering, dark brown grill cloth and the newer Fender logo. It's not the Super Sonic. Am I dreaming about this or is it real?

Weird I remember seeing an ad about a Super Sonic or something. I checked through my new GW and Sweetwater catalog and can't find anything.

Maybe it was a used one from some web site. But I distinctly remember the newer raised chrome/black Fender name plate which I thought was odd given the otherwise retro look.

The closest incarnation of such a "Twin Amp" as you've described that I'm aware of is the LE '65 TRRI clad in blonde Tolex, but its grill cloth is wheatstraw, not oxblood. They were released some years back though. Perhaps you're thinking of the SS100 combo which has the cosmetics you mentioned.

Well I thought I was crazy or it was a used model, but I just got the newest Guitar Center August 2013 mailer and it is in there. It's listed as The Twin Reverb in an FSR Blonde Tolex. The number is 021 7300 405, but I dont see it on GC's or Fender's website. I'm definitely interested if I could see more detail.

Fender's recent release of the Deluxe Reverb amp head had a similar "fanfare". Folks found it for sale at various on-line stores before FMIC even had the opportunity to list it on their website.

+1

So Fender can build em and ship from the warehouse faster than the ad department can get em onto the website? Wow that old troop of mine must really be hitting his stride as a Fender warehouse supervisor

You sure that it wasn't this Super-Sonic Twin combo :

I got the GC mailer also, and it lists a "Twin Reverb in an FSR Blonde Tolex" for $1349, not a Twin or SS Twin. It also lists the regular Twin Reverb for the same price.

In that case they're actually re-issues of the LE model released about ten years ago.
