I have been asked in many threads for book recommendations on tube guitar amp repair/modification/design, so I thought I would start a thread on that subject. If you have a book to recommend, please add it.

My current library:

If you want some books that explain all this in simple terms, these are some good ones:

http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Amplifier- ... ap_title_0

http://www.amazon.com/How-Hot-Rod-Your- ... ap_title_0

http://www.amazon.com/The-Guitar-Amplif ... pd_sim_b_1

For more detail (and a lot of math!) I recommend these:

http://www.amazon.com/Circuit-Analysis- ... d_sim_b_39

http://www.amazon.com/Vacuum-Tube-Circu ... pd_sim_b_5

http://www.amazon.com/Vacuum-Tube-Circu ... pd_sim_b_5

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/075063 ... 04_s00_i00

http://www.amazon.com/Valve-Amplifiers- ... ier+design

http://www.amazon.com/Tubes-Circuits-Br ... pd_sim_b_4

Just for fun:

http://www.amazon.com/Amped-Illustrated ... d_sim_b_17

http://www.amazon.com/The-Soul-Tone-Cel ... d_sim_b_14

Great Thread idea Bluesky...Under your "Just for Fun" category...Not all are amp related, but amps are only half the story as Richie Fliegler so eloquently stated in his book below on the list...
http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Amp-Book-P ... 1871547946

http://www.wwbw.com/Hal-Leonard-Fender- ... tads-plaid^20324837106-sku^900419@ADL4wwbw-adType^PLA-device^c-adid^17050096506

http://books.google.com/books?id=hjfFOW ... CGUQ6AEwDA

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0760329834 ... J6G2QYGCG2

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0879308974 ... J6G2QYGCG2

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0793508606 ... J6G2QYGCG2

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0879305541 ... J6G2QYGCG2

http://www.amazon.com/Amps-Other-Half-R ... 0793524113

And this one under a "Tech" Category...every schematic on Fenders you could ever wish for...

I guess I have quite a few books. I have some more but could not find a source for them, they must be out of print!

Interesting selection. I have several of the Strat and Tele books, as well as the general Fender books that you listed. I have a lot of other books that I did not list since they weren't amp related. I'll go ahead and add them a little later today.

I just added these to my Amazon wish list:

http://www.amazon.com/The-History-Marsh ... NOEP4KHN87

http://www.amazon.com/The-Strat-Attic-T ... 124IL579RZ

Every tube-amp tech's reference library better damn well include a copy of the RCA Receiving Tube Manual, RC25 or newer.

That is one I don't have, but I am just a "Rock Star" haven't made it to "Amp Tech" yet

P.S....but my amp tech here sure has one right above his work bench and it look well used and more than a bit raggedy!
