Hi All,

I just did some recording with my Blues Jr and a SM58. Not real happy with the way it turned out. I seem to recall reading about a "pedal" that would take the output from the speaker out and provide both another speaker out to plug the amplifier speaker into and a line out to take to the house or a recording set up.

Does anyone know of what I speak, or was I just dreaming? It was a small pedal size box that would set right on the amp or attach to the back of it.

it works very well. I have had excellent results with a standard sm57 on my Blues Junior, but that was in a real studio with the mic placed by the sound engineer.
I get inconsistent results with a mic myself, so this device solved that issue.
That's the real bennifit. Changing mic placement by a half inch or even the angle or distance changes the sound drastically.

My BJ (MIM-Fromel Mod-30w Hellatone celestion spkr) really likes the Palmer PDI-09 http://www.palmergear.com/pdi09.shtml & the Surprise Sound Labs-SE-5 http://www.surprisesoundlab.com/ssl-27_009.htm.

Have had excellent results using these units for recording & live situations. Consistent sound every time.
