I have a fender blues jr.
i bought it 2nd hand about a year and a half ago and its a great little amp, as fare as i know its about 6/7 years old...could be more.
But iv been wanting to upgrade the speaker.
Just wanna know...
Is there must of a difference??
&
I'm a huge black keys/ dan Auerbach fan and would be "trying" to get something around that area of sound.

I don't use any overdrive or distortion pedals, i have the amp just at its breaking point so when i want something a little dirty i just have to pick hard.

Could anyone recommend the right speaker I'm looking for, iv been told to go for a jensen but what one?... I'm lost.

Thanks,

Seany

Many folks here find great success with Webers. In addition to upgrading the speaker, you might find a larger cabinet really opens up the amp even further.

Here is an example video. I found it made a massive difference for this fellows' Pro Jr:

You might also check out Kendrick Black frame 10's. Great speaker, costs a bit more than a Weber, but well worth it. Weber makes a great speaker too, a 10A125P (Alnico) would be a good choice for some nice break up.

I put a Kendrick Black frame in my 68 Champ and whoa what a nice sound.
