Update.
OK I took the amp back to the store and in a quiet room they compared my twin reverb to one they just got. The twin reverb they had was CONSIDERBLY more quiet than mine and the reverb on my amp was not functioning very well. They switched out the amps and when I got home miracle of miracles "Blessed quiet"!!! I love my twin reverb!! The sound is magical and now no more white noise!
They agreed something was wrong with it. I will get back to find out what it was.
I guess I could not convey just how much white noise my amp was making and did not know how much reverb this amp actually produces.

I had a similar situation to yours with my DRRI, which was producing more hiss hthan I was happy with and way more than any other tube amp I'd owned before. So I changed some tubes and the biggest difference came from switching V3, the reverb driver. I put a Mullard 4024 there and it cut the hiss by half I'd say. I also put the Mullard in V6 and that helped too.
