Have what I believe is an early CyberTwin that cuts out when the master volume is turned above 5 for more than a few minutes. I reset it to factory default. The screen also cuts out and goes to random string of meaningless mumbo jumbo. Is there an internal battery in these things? Anybody experienced the same issues or have an idea what to do next. Please no, ship it to me type replies. Thank you.

You need to take the amp to a tech.
You asked in the Lounge if the amp was worth repairing. I have a CT I purchased new in 2001. I have had the data wheel replaced twice, and the board with the value controls replaced once. A total of $250 in repairs. I REALLY like this instrument for what it is. It does not replace my tube amps, and I do not expect it to emulate a tube amp, let alone any specific tube amp. When the amp was introduced, I was skeptical and put off my the marketing hype. However, when I played the amp at the music store, I was impressed. I kept returning and playing it for about three months before buying it. It is loads of fun, versatile, and I think very toneful. I often use it in combination with a second or third amp when gigging. When I write it is my go to amp.
Unfortunately, there may come a time the cost to repair it will be unacceptable, or even impossible. But I figure as of now I have about $10 a month invested, and the ROI is incalculable.
