I have a Deville 212, and when I go from the distorted to clean channel while holding a note, I get a popping noise from the amp... Is this normal? If I'm not playing anything, it switches with no popping. There's no noise going from clean to distorted, and no noise between 'drive' and 'more drive'.

Most of my switching is done while not playing, so its not too big of a big deal, but from time to time I switch a little early/late and catch a note. Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks.

I had the same problem with my Cyber-Twin head, ver. 1.3.
It was a design flaw in the amp which they seem to have fixed in the new CTSE. THis slight delay effect during program/channel switching seems to be an issue with some other Fender amps as well then.
I had an ADA MP-1 midi pre-amp for 14 years & the midi switching on it NEVER had a glitch or lag when I switched programs. I wrote Fender about this problem on my CT head when I heard they'd fixed it on the new CTSE & they basically said both the ADA, original CT & the new CTSE are completely differant circuits & as such, function differantly. They told me if I didn't like the way my old CT acted to buy the new CTSE...so I did 2 years later & I'm very happy.
The only thing that bugs me now on the new CTSE is that with almost ANY delay or tape echo setting, when I switch from one program to another with the same delay/tape echos', I get a "sweep up" sound as the new delay or echo catches up to the new program. That only happens when I'm playing a note or chord during the switch, but sometimes that's just un-avoidable. I have tried using a more dry setting without any delay or echo (just a decent reverb) on my rythym sounds & then when I switch to a lead WITH delay or echo it doesn't do it!!! So idk, is this another "glitch" with the Cyber programming? Again, my ADA pre-amp with a midi linked Digitech DSP 128 multi-effects with similar programs NEVER did that & those were from the late 1980's!!!
Try to get in contact with your local Fender rep like I did & see what he has to say about it. Maybe it's a defect in the amp & you could have it looked at under warrenty...
Just a suggestion...A and Good luck my friend!!!
J
