Post subject: Hot Rod Deville vs Deluxe circuit not III

Have reviewed the schematic's on both these and other than the higher voltages on the Deville all values appear to be the same. In theory could one change the trans on the Deville to the Deluxe and loose the extra 20 watts,

Why not just buy the right amp in the first place, saving yourself a lot of $$$ and grief?

Not buying anything. Was given a Devillle that has the primary open on the trans that needs to be replaced anyway. Tried the board out in another Deville and it works fine.

If that be the case then go for it.

Since someone has gifted you the amp, you can afford to spend some money and bench time to get it up and running again. While you have the chassis exposed it might be an opportune time to give it thorough inspection and repair/recondition any known problem areas.
