Hi all, while I was stripping my 2011 Supersonic Twin Amp chassis to replace and re-mount my Speaker and Reverb cables, I thought I would snap a few pics for others to see it's construction (for better or worse).

Please Note* My Speaker and Reverb cables are no longer stock.

My opinions on it's construction:
PRO's
- hand wired valve bases and speaker jacks.
- conventional leaded components.
- full circuit diagram supplied with amp

CON's
- Tightly placed PCB mounted components.
- Ribbon Cables and tons of connectors.
- PCB mounted POTs and Jacks.
- You need a good solid electrical/electronic understanding and patience for doing repair work if needed.

I NEVER buy this amp. Chance it give lots of problem in few years . Seem very fragile.

Nice amp porn! Just like a strip tease. :D

I bet that those V30s sound sweet, and I dig the GTs.

Yeah - my version of amp is for export so it has to cater for all the worldly mains voltages, thus the primary has extra winding taps, not to mention the secondary has a few more too for all the different voltages this amp requires to run the old and new technology. So the Power Tranny is unfortunately larger than it need be. You guys that live in America are so lucky in this regard. Your local amps have tranny's that only cater for 1 mains voltage.

On another note........
I have decided that if this amp ever becomes un-repairable, I will gut the chassis of its PCB's and re-build the internals using old school design. One hell of a task to perform, but the platform is already there.

Those 50/60Hz power trannies are the way to go. The difference between similar rated secondary peak voltage trannies, 50Hz versus only 60Hz is gianormous.

You'll never get that tranny near saturation with only four 6L6GCs. Must be one very LOUD and very CLEAN amp. At least, where the power supply is concerned.
