Hello

I am currently looking at two amps that are kind of similar. The Blues Deluxe Reissue and the Hot Rod Deluxe III. Reading both amps specs it mentions that they both have:

Speaker Jack:
Two 1/4" Parallel (Internal and External)

Not sure what that means. The only jacks I see are the input, pre amp out, and power amp in. Dont see an external speaker jack.
I have a 1x12 superchamp speaker cab. It has a 12" Celestion® G12P-80 speaker wich is the same speaker on the Hot Rod Deluxe.
Can you run either of these amps with both speakers at the same time? Where do you plug it?

The position of the external speaker jack is hidden from view. It is next to where the internal speaker plugs in. Yes, you can run both at the same time. Extension speaker/cab should be 8 ohms.

I run a matching tweed 1X12 cab with mine. It increases bottom and gives a fuller sound.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was reading both amps manuals online and saw that.
Any opinions between the Blues Deluxe vs the Hot Rod Deluxe. I've been listening to different sound tests on youtube for both amps. I seem to incline more to the Blues Deluxe Reissue sound.

It's all about gain and that relates to your choice of music. Mild OD (as in blusey)- the BDRI; higher gain and distortion- the Hot Rod.

Is the sound difference due to the electronics or the speaker?

electronics; it was designed with higher gain in mind.

Go for whichever clean you like the best, because you'll prolly end up using a pedal for gain anyawys.

You simply must have Monster Cable. At $65.00 a foot, it's worth every penny.

..but seriously: the 1x12 cab is a great addition. As has been mentioned before it gives an amazing amount of oomph, a really fat sound. I found it a very worthwhile investment when I had the Blues Deluxe RI. Available in matching tweed, so it looks good too. :)

+1

Everybody who's anybody knows that tone lives in the cables.
Amp circuits, tubes and speakers are like guitar tonewoods.
They only make a difference to people with exceptional ears.
Cable selection is THE most important factor.
You heard it here first folks!
