Hello all, new member here. I ordered a new Super Sonic 100 head ten days ago from Sweetwater and today when I emailed the sales rep to check the status of my order he informed me that it may be several weeks delay because of production changes Fender is making to this amp, and he had no further info. Anybody here have any info at all on what's happening with these amps?

Well it took 11-1/2 weeks but I finally got it, and it was most certainly worth the wait. I don't know what changes (if any) were made but this amp is flawless. It's everything Fender claims it to be and unlike all the claims I've read on the web of excessive noise in the SS series amps this one is dead quiet. One thing I did notice though is that Sweetwater states on their web-site that it's only available in the US so I'm guessing maybe they had to use some non-RoHS compliant parts. Whatever the deal is I'm VERY happy with this amp, it is the amp I've wanted for a very long time and could not find anywhere. I've used it daily for 10 days now and I can't find a single thing to complain about. This has very quickly become my 'desert island pick'. :D

Just an update here. Bummer!

Well after little more than a month the amp did a crash & burn, Fed-Ex picked it up yesterday to return to Sweetwater. I'm not an amp tech but it seems to me the problem is in the power output section of the amp, either tubes or possibly the auto bias circuit. But I have to wait at least till the end of next week until I get a replacement because Sweetwaters next batch isn't scheduled to arrive till then. I do however have to give praise & high marks to Sweetwater for their swift and courteous treatment of the situation, when it comes to customer service they're really on top of it all.
