I removed the original speaker and used it for an ext cab. I have the amp still minus the 8ohm speaker. Two clips are coming from the princeton and I have a pa speaker (8ohms) that has a 1/4 input jack. It's part of a PA system so I don't want to perminently take the speaker out and put it in the amp. Instead I'd like to make a cable that attaches to the amp by the wires coming from the amp to the pa speaker...is this a bad idea since the new cable would have to be at least 3-5 feet? The amp was working but just sometimes would cut out...

If it would work..what's the best way to make a cable...possible to make a cable with clips on one end and the other end be 1/4?

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to solder a 1/4" jack (11) to the amps speaker wires, Positive amp wire (+ , white, or is it red?) to the tip, and negative amp wire (- , black) to the sleeve. Then you can just plug in a speaker cable from amp to speaker.

That's what a jack is. There is no such thing as a male phone jack, the male is called a plug.

You were just unfamiliar with the terminology, that's all. No one started off as an expert.

Can you teach me about magnets?" (Dr. Johnny Fever to Venus Flytrap, on "WKRP In Cincinnati").

OK.

Step 1) Locate a brass magnet. :P

I have clips on the speaker wires coming from the amp. Black and white. I'd like to test the jack and pa speaker before removing the clips. The last jack i have around is ones thats already wired. Is it possible to use some alligator clips to temporarily test the jack and speaker clips(coming from the amp) to verify it sounds ok and that I've got the correct black/white(positive /negative). Also, could I use clips on a jack and the existing clips from amp or must it be soldered? Thank you

I edited this post..
I verified it works with pa speaker.
Just out of curiosity can I put clips on my jack and attach somewhat temporarily since I may want a permanent speaker in the amp at a future point and there are already clips on the amp wire? At present the jack has wires fairly snug to the amp wired clips just to test
