I have a Hot Rod Deville, a 60th Anniversary 212, and when I have my guitars plugged in I get a buzz, a hum, not quite feedback, I bought it used from a pretty big local artist, and I don't think he ever changed anything still has Fender Tubes and speakers. I saw a similar post, I tried plugging my guitar into the Power Amp and it still has a slight buzz but it is much less noticeable, but the buzz stops when I touch the strings, the input jack on my guitar and amp and when my guitar volume is at 0, and I have humbuckers so single coil hum is out of the question, any suggestions? I am thinking maybe change tubes?

Welcome to the Forum! :D

If you put your hand on the strings or bridge and the hum quiets ---- you prolly have a ground loop issue with the patch cord or any stomp box between the guitar and amp. Have another cord to try?

Good luck!

Happy Easter, too!

One thing you may try --- another 12AX7 in that input position. And use good contact cleaner on the pins and on the input jack.

Sounds like you may have a ground loop in the input section of the amp. Between the jack and the first 12AX7. These can be a real PITA to find and fix.

Hope the tube and lube works.

You have a ground problem in your guitar, not the amp.

Or, is the ground plug missing from the power cord on the amp?

+1 That's what I'm thinking. Most coil cords are hum and noise magnets.
I'd go with a high quality cord. I mostly use George L's .255's. Mogami is another great company. Check the jack and ground connections in your guitar and look for the obvious environmental things like flourescent lighting, old computer monitors cell phone in the pocket.....

Doubtful. See highlighted section below:

thanks guys, I tried with my other guitar and a friends and it didn't have the buzz or hum, I guess I need to check for grounding issue in my Gibson because the minute that one is plugged in, it starts the buzzing

Bingo!

Alway try a different guitar or cable when complaining about hum/buzz. I feel modern, PCB based amps are not very prone to ground loop buzzing unless something is really broken inside. Easy enough to find out by swapping cables and guitars.

bigcribber42, cool bananas! Sorry had a brain fart. Funny, how one would automatically do such a change (with guitars) and not even think about it.
