I just caught some information regarding impending problems with using lead free solders in your electronics projects. Some sites I've found on the issue of "tin whiskers":

http://www.national.com/packaging/leadfree/tin_whiskers.html

Amp builders take heed.

I seem to remember reading about this quite a few years ago in Popular Mechanics or Popular Science, then the topic just kind of disappeared. Goes to show the power of the almighty dollar... or even just a few cents per unit.
