Hiya, I recently bought a beat up, used, Blue's Deluxe at a boutique vintage guitar shop. It was an impulse buy and even though i asked for more info and paper work (which could not be provided), i purchased it based on tone. As much as i love this amp i have many questions and whether i paid too much (maybe too little). It was sold as a 2000 Blue's Deluxe, which i have gathered came out long before the reissue versions (which i also don't know the actually difference physically) but it came with a jenson upgraded 12"speaker. No visual serial markings on the driver itself and obviously no help from the clerks. I paid $650 for the amp (cash), but i have recently found a problem with the distortion electronics (possibly just one tube).

Serial number is LO T-9936, and the jensen speaker read's "Jensen Special Design" in red type. i do not wish to take it apart and further investigate components. I hope someone can shed some light on this model, is the speaker "upgrade" truly an upgrade, and how much could it be worth if maintained??? and compared to other fender amps how does it stack up to the hardcore users?

Your amp was assembled in Lake Oswego, Oregon (in the old Sunn facility) and you paid about $200 more than fair market value. I wouldn't consider the Jensen speaker to be an upgrade of any sort.

I agree with Arjay. Way overpriced. It will probably need some maintenance work. Like filter caps. Even if it were properly maintained it still wouldn't be worth much more than $400 in rough cosmetic condition. The Blues Deluxe has a hard core group of fans, but I was never one of them. With Fender amps, I prefer hand-wired, Silverface, blackface and Tweed amps like the 5e3, 5f1 etc. the older Fender amps are much truer to the original "Fender Sound".

All in all the important thing is that you like the amp.
