I did isolate the pre-amp and reverb from the driver and finals, and the static was present. I will check out V3 p1 resistors. If no luck, I will post a sound clip.

Thanks,
Bill

Thank shimmilou for the suggestion about the plate resistors.

A sound clip is always a good idea with a mysterious noise.

How do I post a sound clip on the forum? Should I take a short video and post on youtube?

The suggestion is excellent! Removing the power board looks labor intensive and I think is something I want to do only once so therefore narrowing down all possible components that may be the problem and replacing them makes your sound clip suggestion a definite priority.

Thanks shimmilou for your suggestion regarding the plate resistors. Response to my topic has been excellent and I really appreciate it particularly as I am new to the forum!

That works.

I still haven't figured out how to imbed a video here in the forum, though.

I am seeing my computer go-to tech guy Monday, and he will know. He did show me a "tech help" which is a guide as to how to embed one of my videos yet to be uploaded on U-Tube to my website...another project for another day.

Clapton is the greatest! A friend sent me over to You-Tube recently and introduced me to Gary Moore and "Still Got the Blues". Really like Phil Alvin and the Blasters at the Redwood....nothing like "One Bad Stud"!

The intensity of the static was amplified by the camera mic. Actually it is slightly louder than a whisper and is inaudible under a signal. I uploaded :10 on You Tube. I am not sure how this will work, you may have to copy and paste the link above.

Just click the link in my previous post, and it will take you right to the "static". In order to embed on this forum, I simply made a recording and uploaded it to You Tube. I copied the link to the video, clicked on the youtube button and pasted the link in my response post. Unfortunately the camera mic amplifies way too much.

Thanks!

If you have done everything suggested and the amp is still making noise, its time for a trip to a good amp tech for a hands on evaluation.
