This is a great combination. The heats are much warmer than the stock "special design" speakers, even with just a few minutes on them. Bigger bass for sure. I also am getting way more sustain so I think the old speakers may have been really beat. I hadn't expected the extra sustain. Even with the twin up to only like 3, it just sustains forever with a strat. My OD pedals also sound much better. I'm sure as they break in they will improve too.

Were your OEM "special design" speakers made by Eminence or Jensen?

Cool. The Texas Heats were one of the speakers that I've considered purchasing, based solely on the specs, frequency response and sound samples. Sounds like they are a good choice.

They were the emi's. I've heard the Jensen's are better?

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

The C12K does make for a better frisbee once the magnet has been removed.

Rehearsed with the band tonight, the twin sounded really great! Super fat, yet cut nicely. These speakers are not broken in at all and they sound really good. They are very warm but it still sounds like a twin. I'm pretty psyched.
