I need some help deciding on what kind of amp to get. I would like to try and spend around $100-$250 or $300. I also want to try to go tube but solid state is fine too. Thanks for any replies

Getting a good tube amp for less than $300.00 is going to be nearly impossible. My suggestion is save some more money, then go out and try some amps out for yourself.

Try the blackhart little giant. it's a head and a one 12 cab all tube and its only 300 bones nice clean tone and plenty of tude when you up the volume knob. then theres the epiphone valve jr it is the same thing a 5 watt head and a one 12 cab and it also has some sweet tones and it 250 not bad for a all tube amp. you can find them at musicians friend hope that helps[/url]

I am extremely impressed with my new Champion 600. It can get the most beautiful cleans and a very fat overdrive. If you were to use it for gigging, then you could always hook up an external speaker cabinet. It really depends on what you tastes are though.

I know I say it all the time but for that price it is the Crate V1512 all day long. If you played one it would be a great starter tube amp or practice amp. I play mine all the time.
