R97 (1.2 Kohms, 2 watt) appears to be part of the foot switch circuitry. Definitely not normal for it to be very hot to the touch. Never heard of any problems with that resistor before, though always a first time for everything.

Yeah, I would go with the last response that you got in the first thread that you started.

I would expect that R97 would be dissipating at least one watt, so yes it would be hot, not scorching but maybe a little to hot to comfortably keep your finger on it for very long.

well i was hoping i could fix this myself considering the closest place to have this thing repaired is about an hour drive away from me. If i take it to someone i might as well have him replace several things, what all would you suggest to be replaced?

I wouldn't suggest replacing anything before knowing whether it's bad or not, except to try some new tubes, which you have apparently already tried.

No offense but it seems that if you can't even check a resistor, you're not going to be able to "repair" it yourself. I think that is why taking the amp to a tech was suggested, instead of randomly "messing about" and replacing things without any actual troubleshooting first. A good tech should be able to repair it easily.

Do you have a good multimeter, and do you know how to read schematics and troubleshoot? If the answer is no to any of these questions, you'll be hard-pressed to have any real success.

Im an automotive mechanic, but i have never messed with a guitar amp before. i think your right though my best bet is to take it to someone who knows amps. i was just hoping it was a simple problem like a solder joint or or something that i could repair myself.

Thanks again for your help, when i get her all fixed up ill post and let you all know what the problem was.
