Drew, check out the diagrams here
http://site.tubedepot.com/pdf/tweeddeluxekit_v14.pdf
This info is also available.
http://site.tubedepot.com/pdf/2_pri_xformer_v1.pdf

I have the same Classic Tone tranny. Great sounding transformers too.

The diagrams in the Tube Depot instructions do not show a center tapped heater output. That is what is causing Drew's problems.

It gives you the color coding in the tranny in the instructions. I'm not sure how huge the circuit differences are between the two amps.

The PT (40-18017) in the Tube Depot kit is not the same one that Drew has (40-18021). The 017 does not have a center tapped heater output.

I believe that Drew purchased the wrong PT, but it is still usable if he follows the recommendations in my earlier post that gives two wiring options.

That's why I stick with kits. I ain't that smart.
I've built lots of stuff over the years, I mod stuff after the fact.
The Classic Tone tranny that came with my kit is for a Deluxe Reverb.
It's a well built piece of iron and sounds great.

This looks like my problem. I bought the 40-18021. I'll follow your advice and see how it checks out. Thanks for all the help guys!

Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

I'll be honest with you. I found it easier to build my Weber kits using just a schematic and wiring diagram then trying to make my way through the Tube Depot instructions.

I'm too anal and paranoid as I got older. Funny thing is, I used to wire time pressure filling systems for Pharmaceutical companies like Merk way back just using ladder diagrams. I had to make seventy some pin cables and ring them out as I went along. I know just enough to be handy and dangerous at the same time.

I have no idea what a "time pressure filling system" is, so you got me on that one.

It's a machine that fills bottles, syringes...stuff like that. Pretty complex machinery.

Well, after some experimentation, I discovered that two green wires need to be coming from the pt to the pilot light for the light to even turn on. What does this mean for me?

What it means is that you need to wire the heaters per the Weber diagrams shown below.

Note: I posted the wrong diagrams earlier. I have fixed that. These are correct. Sorry for any confusion.

Okay, those make more sense. By the way, I have 9th pins on the preamp tube sockets grounded, but the weber diagram doesn't call for that. Should I remove the ground or will it be fine?
