Re: fender princeton 65 dsp
PRE OUT - This jack provides an output signal from the preamp. Reverb is also present at this output. It may be used to drive effects units in an effects loop, to drive additional amplifiers in a multi- amp set up or as a preamp send to a mixing console.
PWR IN - This jack provides a return from your effects units. This jack can also be used as a power amp input.

I got the above info from the manual. I understand how the in/out work for an effects loop. I thunk i also understand the out preamp send to a mixer if needed. But what is a power amp input? How would this power amp input be used in application ? Thank you

Preamp out/power amp in = effects loop out/in in most amps. Some may have slightly different switching or circuitry but they usually perform the same functions.

Connect your effects between pre out and power in. Or use the pre out to drive another amp. Use a different amp pre out to drive the power in. Lots of different combinations. Experiment. You can't hurt anything as long as you don't try to connect an amp speaker out to the power amp in.

Well I have an amp it has a line out and a speaker out. The other amp i have is a fender greta amp and I wanted to try it with a bigger speaker (the princeton 65dsp) but the speaker out of the greta to the power amp in is a no no?(as you stated) Would line out work the same and not blow up?

Use the line out from the other amp into the power amp in of the Princeton.

I thought the Greta had a line out?

Yes greta has both. Line out and speaker out. I appreciate your replies here. Ideally ...I'd like the princeton to have a speaker IN input ..better quality ?although I haven't tried the greta line out to the princeton power amp in yet. Also I'd suppose the Greta's speaker will sound same time as princetons speaker..and somehow I'm going through the princetons preamp section? Anyway thanks for being helpful !!!

No amp that I know of has a "speaker in" connection.

You can try the Greta line out into either the Princeton guitar in or power amp in to see which works best. May take some experimenting to get the best volume balance.

Thanks big time. Guitar cable for line out of greta/princeton power amp in? Or speaker cable ...?

Line level signals- instrument cable; Amplified level signal- speaker cables.

Confused because the line out of the greta could be line level going to regular instrumentin on princeton and also the power amp in on princeton (not at same time of course) so not clear..

Instrument cable.

The only thing that uses speaker cables is .... wait for it .... speakers!

And some foot pedals.

No, I wish I did. It's probably worth a million bucks.

The name plate on the headstock is too small to read in the original photo. I think it was purchased at either Sears or Montgomery Wards which means it is probably a Tiesco or something similar. I did an extensive Internet search and came up empty. The photo is late 60s I think.

My first electric was very similar looking is why I asked. My sister gave it to me from woodstock ny. It had awful action and was so hard to play.. So hard that I think it made me a better player ? I gave it away when I was 15 to some guy and he turned it into some kind of experimental instrument. I never really knew what kind of guitar it was ...once I got my strat I didn't care until I really thought about it decades later. At least you got the photo eh!- Jon
