I got a brand new Deluxe Reverb and I can't get it to break. It's not too loud at 3. I tried at 7-8 and it's really loud but still sounds clean. This happens in both channels? What could be wrong? This is my first tube amp so I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm using an american standard strat.

Wow! This is a first. A complaint that a new amp does not break up soon enough.

You say that this is your first tube amp? Do you know what tube breakup and a "clean" sounding amp really sound like? Might try listening to some You Tube videos. Also check that the power tube bias is set properly. Fender tends to set the bias too cold for greater life expectancy as opposed to for best tone. That would be the only thing "wrong" with the amp.

I'd like to suggest that the volume knob on your guitar be maxed.
Rolling the volume down will clean up the amp, just as it would do through a distortion pedal.

+1 to all the above. I'd also give the speaker a chance to break in as well. I got breakup imediately but it didn't sound nice until the speaker was properly broke in.

Thanks all for your help. I checked a lot of review videos before choosing the amp. I saw some reviews where at 4 starts to break and I couldn't accomplish that. I also saw the multiple postings all over the web about people complaining that their amp breaks too early.

I did a search on adjusting the power tube bias and it looks like something I definitely cannot do by my self. I'll take it to some service center just to make sure it's ok.

It can be done quite easily with the proper tools and caution, but if you are in the least bit uncomfortable doing it (you are exposed to 400+ VDC during the process), taking the amp to a good amp tech is the smart move.
