Okay, I just finished this kit last night and I have to say this box is pretty cool.
It allows you to use two amps, in a lot of different ways, both safely and quietly. It works great as an A/B/Y box and it's dead quiet while switching. Absolutely no popping whatsoever.
You can switch between two different amps, or play through two amps at the same time. Works like a charm. Its also works as a stereo FX router. It has dual inputs and allows you to send the left and right signals from your stereo FX units to two separate amps, so that you can have a true stereo rig without any ground loop hum and without the risk of electrical shock. I have to dig out some old stereo effects to try that out. Sounds interesting.

I tried it with my 5e3 clone and my Egnater Rebel 20. Worked perfectly with no buzzing at all and the rig as a whole sounds amazing. The volume and tone potential is crazy. For lower volume stuff I tried it with my Champ and my cheesy Guild Four porch weasel. Both amps together sound great.

If anyone runs two amps, this is a quality little box and pretty cheap. It was $89 and tool about two hours to build.

Congrats on your build. I've been contemplating getting one of these. How does it perform when inserted before any effects pedals as opposed to after? I want to be able to run one amp clean all the time and the other with my pedals, for instance A goes to amp A set clean, B goes to pedal board then out to amp B, and Y would be both combined. My plan is to run it in Y all the time for a stereo sound but still be able to engage my effects through only one amp when required. I haven't pulled the trigger cause I've heard mixed reviews. Some say its great others say signal bleeds over to clean amp, especially when running overdrive and distortion. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not getting any bleed at all. I just finished doing the same thing you mentioned and it worked out great. I've built a lot of the BYOC kits and they're all first rate. A lot of the problems people mention about their builds are due to a sloppy build or they use things for stuff they're not intended to do or they just hooked the effects up wrong. Everything's isolated and there are separate transformers for each output on the amp selector. I've built five of their pedals plus a few of my own where I etched my own boards. I've also built two amps, a5e3 clone and a little el84 driven five watter that is true point to point with no turret board. It's fun stuff. I'd give it a go if I were you. Just follow the instructions carefully and make sure the solder joints are clean and you have no solder bridges. As far as kits go YMMV

Thanks for doing the research for me. Looks like that's definately going to be my next pedal.

Peace.

No problem. The tones I can get between my 5e3 and Egnater are limitless. My 5e3 the way the kit is designed puts out close to twenty watts. My Rebel 20 get volume spike when it's set to noon on the tube mix dial, then on top of that it has a watts dial that gives you more or less headroom depending on where you set it, then my 5e3 has the usual volume control interaction plus jumpering the channels. very cool stuff.
