I have an opportunity to purchase a 1x12 extension cabinet with a 75 watt eminence speaker.

I'm hoping to utilize this (by itself - no other cab), at least temporarily, with a late 80s Red Knob Dual Showman which is a 100 watt amp. However, the amp has a switch that allows operation at 25 watts and I always run in this mode.

If I make sure to keep the switch on 25 watts, should I be all set running this cab? :?:

Yes.
Provided there is no impedance mismatch.

Speaker is 8 ohms and the amp has an 8 ohm selector switch option so I should be good to go. Thanks for your reply.

At 25 watts, you shouldn't have any issues whatsoever.
