Hey all, picked up as nice Reissue Twin with a road case and I'd love some info. This one has Eminence "special design" speakers. What are these all about?
Also, is it possible to put a tube rectifier in a Twin?
Would keeping the amp in the road case bottom affect the low end? I mean, if I take it out and use it on the floor, would I get more bass response?
I had a couple twins and this one seems brighter than I remember. Also, it has groove tubes in it which I am not usually a fan of them.
I think I may need to go to a warmer, lower efficiency speaker. Any suggestions?

The older TRRI's featured the Eminence speakers as OEM (later replaced on the production line with imported Jensen C12K's). The Emi is a 100-watt driver voiced similar to the company's proprietary "Red, White, & Blues" model. Its SPL is close to 100 dB, perhaps a skosh higher.

Original Twin Reverbs from the mid '60s were equipped with Oxford 12T6's or Jensen C12N's. Both types were 40-watt drivers. To approximate the tone of that vintage Jensen, you may find Weber's 12F150 with light doping a close match. Or simply find a pair of authentic C12N's from the era.

Why? The original Twin Reverb used a solid state rectifier.

Just curious about the rectifier, no other reason.
