Gents,

Yesterday, I was making the rounds to all the local pawn shops when I saw this Super 60 for $100 "As-Is". I thought, "Oh boy... maybe the reverb or OD channel is out." Plugged it in and it was dead. Took a peek at the power tubes and the power cable. They were all tight. Anyhoo, I asked if they would take $50 for it and to my surprise they went for it.
Fast forward to tonight and I took the head out and looked for bad spots on the PCB. There are a couple brown spots which you can see in the pics.

The solder joints at the dark areas are solid. The one on the right side of the pic is a white square cap that seems to be fine. The other large caps look fine as well (no bubbles on the plastic end".

So the Presence pot is out and a wire off the input jack has broken off. I don't think these would keep the amp from turning on; it would just sound badly.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Got a good fuse in it?

Here's the schematic. Start tracing and see where things lead to. Really need more info that just "it was dead". There are a ton of problems that could cause those symptoms.

Ha! Yeah the fuse was the second thing I checked after the 6l6s. It even had the spare in a clip. :D

I need to track down a multimeter.
