I need some information, please. I have a blues jr and was wondering if I decide to change tubes to another brand do I have to have them re-biased?
I was thinking of trying out some JJs. Anybody have any thoughts about it?

No, you do not. But you do want a matching set.

Because of variances in output tubes, even with the
same type & brand, one should readjust bias any time
output tubes are replaced.

Do you have to- No
Should you- YES

The Blues Jr. is self biasing and would need to be modified to allow for adjustments to be made.
Matching Output Tubes are recommended.

Good Point-

The amp is 'Cathode Bias" in this design the amp rarely, if ever,
needs any type of adjustment.
This arrangement causes an equilibrium in
terms of the operating level of the tube.

In my OP- I was explaining the main reason for biasing amps.

I knew that, he may not have. I think we have all the bases covered now.
