Hi,

I got this cute little Fender mini twin-amp for christmas. It works very well for practice, but I can't seem to get it to output sound to my mixer, for recording. Connecting a headset with a 1/4" jack works fine, but I have had no success trying to connect regular 1/4" mono or stereo jack cable. They don't seem to "click into place", and gives no sound output. The only way to get something out, is to pull the plug a few millimeters out. Then it can transer sound, but gives feedback when I increase tone on either my guitar or the amp.

I have been to the music store twice to get cables I thought would fit, but neither me or the people at the shop seem to understand why it doesn't work.

What am I missing here?

I would guess that the output jack is a stereo jack wired for mono operation so that when you plug a mono jack in, you are shorting out the output of the amp. Probably same thing when you try connecting a stereo cable.

Have you tried a 1/4" stereo to 1/4" mono cable? This is assuming that the input to your mixer is a 1/4" TR (mono) jack. Finding that combo can be tricky. However, a 1/8" stereo to 1/4"TR is easy. Then just get an 1/4" stereo adapter for the 1/8" and you in business. It is how I get around those situations.
