Hello all.

I'm new to this forum.
I have a 2 year old SS22. Played him for 1 year without any problem.
Lately i was preferring and using the Brunetti Singleman 16.
Now i have given the SS22 to a young guitar player.
He claims after 1-2 hours the Burn channel dies. Moving the Gain1 pot brings back
the Burn channel for a while. I think it might be a bad solder joint on the Gain1 pot.
Do you guys have had the same effect and any remedy ?
Any help is much appreciated.

Best regards from Otto @ Hamburg/Germany

Thanks for your reply Bill.
No i havn't heard it myself.
We have tested the amp for half an hour before he took him away.
No issues at that time. I can not say anything bad about the amp. It sounded fantastic
(i had my volume pedal in the loop and sometimes my GlassNexus from DamageControl).
The reason for selling the amp was my fear that it will not be reliable. I had replaced most of the tubes with JJ 6V6 and JJ ECC83S. The amp was sitting in a flight case.
Was out to 10 gigs or so, carefully transported.
Maybe somebody had similar issues and could give me a hint.
Unfortunately the warranty period in Germany expired 18 of december 2012.

Best regards
Otto

Well, something that dies after an hour or so (in other words, after everything has reached operating temperature) could certainly be a bad solder joint expanding and opening up as it heats up. However, determining which solder joint it could be without having the amp in hand could be tricky. You should insist on the new owner demonstrating the problem to you before expending a lot of time and effort troubleshooting the amp via the Internet. You need to eliminate the possiblity of "buyer's remorse" on the part of the new owner.
