hello , I have been watching the many Blues Jr. posts here, Can any one give me a quick rundown on the many variants of this nice amp?? I think I want to get the one that an on line store has, Lacquered tweed. I have a tweed blues deluxe. I just want a smaller amp to haul around... Are they all the same but with small changes? Also I;m looking at the many mods for this little jem. Thanks, Mark

Here's a link to the Fender Amps section and I set it to display 100 items:
http://www.fender.com/amps/?&n=100

Just do a quick scan to find all the Blues Juniors.
Hope this helps

The originals, MIA, were the only ones that had a real circuit difference. The originals were revised a good bit with the version II, shortly before they began making them in Mex, having to do with the reverb circuit. Since then, the only differences in all BJr models were the covering and the speaker, identical otherwise. Now, the version III has some slight modification to the circuit, involving a couple of capacitor differences, giving a brighter tone than the version II, called the "sparkle mod". So, basically, among the same version, all BJrs were the same except the covering and speakers of various "special editions". The version III is distinguishable by its black faceplate.

Thanks to all of you who replied. Shimmilou you put it all together in a few short sentence's. As soon as Uncle Sam sends out mt tax check I'll have a NAD!! I read a review on the On line store, the fell said that they no longer sell a lacquered amp and they haven't changed the ad, anyone know about that? Would a home lacquer job look as good?,Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark.
I just swapped the stock tubes on my Bjr III with the SRV set from EUROTUBES, and put in a Cannabis Rex 8 Ohm speaker. Sounds great. That is two mods to make a great amp into a fantastic amp.. Lovin' the tone I've got. Good luck!! You can also do the BillM mods.
Best Regards,
Michael
