There are some minor circuit differences between the two amps that don't reall affect the tone that much. The biggest difference is the fact that the BDRI provides a power tube bias adjustment pot and test point while the original BD does not.

Apples and oranges. Those are two totally different amps in circuit design and tone.

actually- this is a floor model deluxe 3. just wondering if there are differences in circuitry, speakers, etc. that would make a major difference.

i played thru both with the same guitar, and the ri does come out ahead. i will be going back early next week to try them again.

the store also has a blues deluxe used at 499, but doesn't have the footswitch. this is the reason for my original title, to find out the difference between the original bd and the reissue

thanks for your help

Have have 2 94 Blues Deluxe amps one thing that for me just how I look at it sometimes the original just is better then the re-issue aged just seems more refined. have owned and played RI's they are gone and the originals are still here.. the one of the left has a JBLD120F and the one on the right has a Jensen P12N cover removed. And by the way they are tweed just cool to look at.
