I was thinking about buying a cheap dust cover for my DRRI and cutting out portions of it so the front knobs, rear power switchs and speaker are exposed.

Will that have any affect on preventing dust problems ??

Any insight ?

Yes, I really am too lazy to have to remove and put on the cover every time I use the amp...

If you cut that many holes in it, you will kind of prevent the dust cover from doing its job, not to mention you WILL run into overheating problems and probably burn up your "Cheap" cover and maybe more than that.

For safety's sake, just pull the cover off and replace it ONCE the amps tubes have cooled off :!: :!:

I can't tell if this is an attempt at humor or you're serious. I can take the cover on/off my amps in less than 15 seconds. How long does it take you?

+1

Anything to the contrary seems to represents the epitome of sloth IMO.

No dust cover for me. When my amps get dusty, I just blow them off with some canned air.

Well when you use the top of your amp to put drinks, cd's, picks, slides, etc... I wouldnt exactly call it laziness to have to remove everything first to put on and take off the cover...

Not sure why everyone makes assumptions before typing...

Anyway, the over-heating thing is a concern so I guess I try using my dust cover as it is and have to avoid putting any objects on top of the amp...

It sounds like what you really need is a small table sitting next to your amp... or how about a TV tray..?
