I think there should be a SReVerb.

Why not, he used them to great avail. Some of the best live tones I've ever heard. I know he used other amps also but I dought Marshall will reissue the Pig. I tink it's a great Idea.

Simply because the Super Reverb already exists as a Reissue amp. Many of the mods made to SRV's amps by Ceasar Diaz make them impractical for general use. Just buy a SRRI and bang it up a bit. Instant classic.

" Signature Amps "

Maybe it's just me... but doesn't the person need to be alive to do a "signature model?"

OK, a tribute amp, with the mods is wha I'm saying. Not a SRRI.

Fender gave you ample opportunity to own an SRV "signature" amp. The product was the hand-wired Custom Shop '64 Vibroverb re-issue and it included many of the mods designed by Cesar Diaz, who performed those alterations on SRV's stage rigs.

Want some kleenex?

Do you also get his hands as part of the amp purchase?

I can understand signature guitars (somewhat), but if I saw someone with a Alex Lifeson/Don Felder signature Gibson double neck, my initial thought is total poser.

While it's always interesting to try and duplicate our hero's rigs, it will never sound the same. there have been countless articles of pro musicians playing through other people's rigs and sounding nothing like them.

Use what you have and craft your own tone. It's a lot more fun IMHO.

I AGREE
It's in the hands, the heart the mind and the vibe and knowing the interaction of a guitar and an amp's sweet spot...rolling the guitar vol pots ...like set up a LP with the neck PU to 4ish and the bridge PUP full on and crunch along in neck mode...then flick to the bridge and wow...just a simple test...lots of folks tweak the vol pots on the guitar and have the amp turned up to it's sweet spot...then work around the sweet spot...my vibro king's sweetness starts at about 4-6 and you can ride that amp like a bucking bronco....

it's the mind and fingers....and the heart

BTW i have seen SRV few times...different years one time he rocked it and another time he sucked  ...like flying or driving a race car...some days you should just stay in bed...and on other day it all click.....for a rocking good time

I think the Alex Lifeson signature H&K Triamp is a worthy signature amp. Not because of any artist affiliation or special tonal qualities, but because Alex donates all the royalties he gets from amp deals to children's charities. That's the sort of deal I wish happened far more often with famous artists and their signature gear.

Well, that and it glows purple.

My thoughts precisely whenever I see someone un-case an SRV Strat in a club or a custom-made cue stick in a pool hall......

You better be damn good, pilgrim!

Very nice to hear - always nice to hear good things about someone who helped shape your guitar learning years!

Apparently he's no longer using them solely as the main part of his tone from a recent article showing the amp backstage -- included a Mesa Boogie, an H&K, Marshall Silver Jubilee, and a kit amp from Mojotone (!)
Apple Mainstage, and some amp I can't remember all running through Palmer speaker simulators - no real cabinets for him or Geddy.
