Has anyone seen a Black Greta cabinet, or did they only make matching red ones with the Greta badge?

Haven't seen a black one but I've painted my red cabinet's corner protectors, handle holders and screws gold to match the red and gold colour scheme of the Greta amp.

Something that should have been done in the factory! Chrome just didn't look right.

Forgot to say that it's definitely a Super Champ SC112 cab, it's a great way of getting a low powered tube setup.

Here's a pic btw:

The cool thing is you can now justify purchasing a Super Champ so you can get double duty on the cab!

The Greta is a cool looking little amp although I have never had a chance to play through one... there was a used one on my local CL for $80 last week but I wasn't quick enough! Would love to score one and a cheap little Squier or something and keep both at my office... for lunch breaks of course! 8)

I think the Greta cab is a newer product than the Greta itself and spawned from consumer requests for one. I bet the Pawn Shop Excelsior and the Greta with its matching cab are going to seriously cut into sales of the Epiphone Valve Jrs, VOX AC4TVs and Jet City 333s. And the Greta is especially sexier than that atrocious looking Yamaha desktop tube amp! The Pawn Shops are great little simplified and portable tube amps!

To add to this older thread,

The Greta really develops a vintage character with an AlNiCo speaker. I run mine through a Weber X-Cab with the Weber AlNiCo Signature 10S Speaker. It give a wonderfully chimey clean with just a touch of grit to full Classic 60's Rock and Roll crunch. I originally started with a Signature 10, but found it too warm & dark sounding. Swapped in the brighter 10S and hit the beautiful tones I was after.

I've heard the Greta through some British voiced and more neutral voiced speakers, but they just didn't have the same character as the AlNiCo Sigs do.

Also, for nearly a Twin tone, I run the line out into a Peavey VT 212 Classic (solid state pre-amp, 6L6G tube output). Sounds rich, full and warm, just like a Twin. It just doesn't get the Twin's beautiful cleans.

Here it is with my new Standard Stratocaster:

I tried my new Tremolux cab with the Weber 10A125 speakers in it (also alnico) with the Greta when picking it up from the shop; it sounds fun. Still reco the Greta if you don't have a low wattage amp; at that price, why not? Just wish it had a handle on the top.
