Just loaded up my '59 Bassman LTD with these bad boys:

Image

On top, I've got a pair of Weber 10A125's.
On bottom, I've got a pair of Weber 10F150's.

They sound absolutely sublime. Just beautiful - like it's not even the same amp. Clean, they're warm and very balanced. Turn up into drive and they stay warm and sound very nice. The Jensens just got harsh as they got louder which necessitated changing the EQ settings depending on the volume.

Nice part is I was able to flip the Jensens on my local Kijiji pretty quickly and recover about half of what I spent on the Webers.

And I ordered them with gold frames because... well, just because. :)

That's an understatement to say the least, Arjay!

At lower volumes, the cleans are just gorgeous. Full bodied and warm.

At higher volumes... Sweet merciful crap, these Webers sound amazing! Like I said above, with the Jensens, they got harsh. They were plenty loud, but the tone was wince inducing with how harsh it became. I found myself immediately reaching for the treble control to roll off the highs.

However, with the Webers, it's like they just get sweeter the louder they get. The crunch tone... man, you just want to move in and live there. I don't know if it's the combo of these two different speakers in the same cabinet but, man what a great tone.

Anyone out there with a Bassman who is on the fence about a speaker swap, I cannot tell you enough what a difference it makes.

The combo I got was:
2x 10A125, 8 ohm, 30 watts, light dope.
2x 10F150, 8 ohm, 25 watts, light dope.

The Weber vintage line is an incredible value. You get quality American hand-made to order speakers for the price of what many other manufacturers charge for their imported production line speakers.

I installed a pair of Weber 10A125's in client's Custom Vibrolux Reverb awhile back and it was like flipping the switch from "yawn/ho-hum" to "let's dime this thing and kick some real azz"!

That same "blend" you decided on will also put some serious whupass into a SRRI.

Yeah, that's something I came across when researching my options. There's more than a few guys out there with these speakers in a 4x10 configuration.

I have a Weber 12a125a in my 5e3 clone that I just finished a couple weeks ago. It sounded great when I installed and it only gets better as it breaks in. Really nice speaker and not outrageously expensive.

I've read nothing but great things about the 12A125a. If I hadn't scored a vintage Jensen P12Q then I likely would have bought the 12A125a.

Man, these speakers really are the real deal. You know how you first try something like a new pickup or speaker and think, "Maybe I'm just hearing what I want to hear" and later you realize it's not as great as you thought? Not these speakers! I've had a bit more opportunity to play them over the past few days and they're equally, if not more impressive every time I turn on the amp. Plugged in my pedal board and my OD and fuzz pedals sound just awesome!

I am very seriously mulling over ordering a pair of 10A125's for my CVR.

I've used both the Weber 10A125 and 10F125over a LONG time. Like back when Ted was still alive and called them P10Q or P10R and C10Q or C10R. They have all been very good speakers. Long break-in, but nice tone over a long time.

My PR had a Weber P10R put into in it back in the early 1990's. It is the PR with one of the best tone, I've ever played on. That amp with the GZ34 (AA764) is a tone monster for sure.

Very nice! I like the gold color option. I just installed a pair of green 10A125's in my Tremolux cab - can't wait to fire it up this weekend!

Powdered Toast Man - It looks as though your Bassman kicks some serious butt with that speaker setup!

As with wives, cars and guitar gear, if you treat them right, they'll treat you right.

Just did a gig with the amp. Sounded awesome! The clean tone is just wonderful.

HOWEVER, the speakers added several pounds to the amp. It's as heavy if not heavier than my Super Reverb was.

A common "malady" when upgrading to better speakers, but well worth the trouble IMO.

Will do. while I love Mojo, the switchcraft jack they sell with their speaker wiring kits is short so you can't get it through a 1/2 cab back. I can't solder at all, so at my amp guy's shop so he can replace and solder correctly.
