Hello -

Has anybody played electric guitar through this amp and could comment? I think It should be one of the most interchangeable amps out there for acoustic and electric guitars.

Thanks,

Gus

I tried one and didn't like the acoustic sound from it. I own a Martin Performing Artist series acoustic. I went with a Fishman Loudbox. It let my acoustic sound like an acoustic. My guitar has Fishman electronics, so that may be the reason why. Try them out and see how it works for you.

What are you looking to do with it?

I have an older Acoustasonic Junior,

I've got 4 acoustics with various pickup systems - (Bags, Fishman etc) it sounds just fine. I have a few jazz box and those work good thru it too.

I'm looking for one amp that can do well with both acoustic and electric guitars in small gigs. So, I don't have to carry around two amps.

I plugged a line 6 Pod 1.0 into my amp just as a practicing rig, it was "ok"..

It's really not well voiced for what you would expect for traditional electric guitar tones.

It does sound good with my jazz boxes with flatwound strings, but my tube combos and mu Mustang III sound way better

Gus, your best bet is to try them out if you can. I always find there's too much of a trade off with amps that claim to do both acoustic and electric. But I'm pretty picky with my acoustic sound. The Fishman I have is only 65 watts. For bigger gigs, I just elevate it use the line out to the PA system and use the amp as my monitor. For the smaller clubs, I just use it as is and it's fine.

Only you know what will work for you.
