HI, I am a bit stuck. I cannot easily get to a shop and will need to buy an amp online. I am debating between solid state or tube and have been browsing the web. I know that I want the clear Fender tone and stumbled on the above amps.

I have heard the vibro champ and that sounded great. But money wise I can buy a solid state a lot cheaper. Unfortunatly I cannot go and try the frontman and G-dec. I just wondered what the sound quality was like from the othere. I have about £200 (400$) to spend. Could stretch a little maybe.

I like to play rock (old stuff zed and purple and g n r) and blues. Just wondered what the best bang for the buck is. ALso is the G-dec loaded with features that the money did not go into a decent cabinet with speaker?

Any info appreciated.

cheers
Dennis

The GDec is definitely a practice amp in that the tones are somewhat preset for you. Sure you can manipulate them them, but in my experience, my guitar does not sound like MY guitar. It's a wonderful practice amp though.

Most guys want tube amps and the super champ is a great new amp. It is tube with DSP voicing to let you dial in different amp types. Basically, it gives you some solid state abilities in a tube format. Really nice. At 15 watts, you can jam with it too. It would be my pick of the three. I wouldn't even think twice about it.

I would recommend the Champion 600. It can be as clean as a whistle, to a somewhat Cream sounding overdrive.

If you like effects and a wide range of tonal capabilities, then i would go with the Super ChampXD. Do a search on youtube and find which one you like the most.

Also, there is no comparison in tone when it comes to a tube amp and a SS amp.
