Post subject: TRRI reverb too surfy or something

Its an accutronix, and lately, it just sounds... bad... too metallic, and tinny somehow.

When I use a muff, its like the sounds bumps into itself and it just becomes mush.

I have tried lower voltage tube in V3, a Sovtek 5751, no go.

What to do? Better tubes in V3 and V4? Replace the tank? Anything?

It's one of the best amps around for "surfy" sounds.

What is the Reverb set to? Volume? Bass? Middle? Treble? Type of guitar? All of of these play a big part in what the reverb tank sees. Even the condition of the instrument cable.
