A nice companion piece to Fender's previously-released 5F6-A Bassman and 5E8 Twin Amp.

Yeah mate, I spotted that earlier this week 8).

Looks like it would be a fantastic amp, at 26 Watts through 3 tens, I suspect it would sound very juicy too.

I haven't bought a Fender amp for a while now but this one certainly has my attention.

Looks nice but...

Anyone care to wager on retail price? I'm guessing around $2K.

The beauty is, it wouldn't be much of a leap to clone this chassis and cab into a 5E5 Pro Amp -- two amps for the price of a single R&D effort.

+1 I'd go the clone route.
Snowy, I just finished a Tube Depot Tweed Deluxe last week when my Weber 12A125A speaker came in. I got the 30 watt light dope version. I'm really amazed at how good it sounds. Really quiet too. Now I've got the bug. Don't know whether to thank you or blame you for the inspiration. Now I'm eyeballing the Build Your Own Clone Tweed kit. it combines both the 5e3 and a 5f1 all in one amp that has a few really cool tweaks designed into it. Mine came with Classic Tone trannies. They sound great and are made here in the states.
I highly recommend the Tube Depot kit. It's really well designed and went together without a hitch.

I've got the bug bad.

Hey Arjay, If I could make a grand for building a clone, I'd do it all day long.
I Don't know how Fender comes up with these prices. Compared to the Champ,Deluxe, and the Clapton series, it seems like a bargain.

Haha Supro, it's a great amp the TD tweed Deluxe, I'd say it's actually one of the best sounding amps I've ever heard, fairly ballsy too for it's size. 8)

Did you sub in the Trannys, or have they changed them? Mine came with Heyboers (Deluxe Reverb), great transformers, a lot bigger and meatier than a standard 5E3 transformer, but the voltages were pretty hot on both my builds.

If you've got the bug, check out the Trinity Tramp I think you'd really enjoy that build and it's a superb sounding and very versatile little amp, mine sounds killer. That BYOC Tweed "Royal" does sound interesting too, I also notice they do a Head version.

Yeah Bill I know what you mean it's hard to beat building your own, there's a level of satisfaction there deeper than anything you can buy or put a price on.

Heyboer trannies are very good irons. Heyboer also has a pretty good re-winding service and custum tranny service.

Snowy, looks like they changed them. They are a line from Magnetic Components Inc. The've been around since 1943 and made trannies. For Valco and tons of others. It's a 22 watter made for a Deluxe Reverb. The Weber I ordered is seriously nice sounding. Much better than the stock Jenson Mod. It's warmer and has a really tight bottom end and the highs ore really detailed. I still have the Jenson. It sounds better with my El84 5 watt amp from Mod DIY I built. That was a true PTP with only terminal strips supporting thr components.

I actually got a cover for the Deluxe from Mojotone. It was twenty two bucks and fits nice.
Feels good to be back with the old timers. I took a while off from the forum.

Nice find Arjay. Add a Gretsch and you've got Pete Townshend's tone for Who's Next and albums after that.

I will be at NAMM Friday and Saturday so I'll see if I can hear it if not also play it.
