now now we can do better than that...it's a nice little amp...BUT?????

same with the Vibro King...are the Tim C mods all there is?....i think not...more on that later - i am fuming over a pricey power supply that isn't living up to the demand and another one...i spent massive dough on only to find it is one...freaking supply.....so it's time to hit the tavern...and pour some idiocy out of me.....

however since apparently the SS22 is just peachy keen as is....why when i plug a tube into V4's spot i get noticeable hum..no signal in..not really loud not measured yet...but there ...all tubes prior to v4 are pulled and with V4 out the hum dies out...now that is the reverb loop recovery and stuff....so i plugged in some different tubes the one that killed most of the noise was an RCA 7025 in that spot...all other tubes new and old all did the same noise..or really close..but the 7025 (RCA) cleaned up a bunch...now what gives?

so i feel although close the 22 is my go to small combo amp...but there are niggling issues..and i think we as a community can dial that amp into a sweetie...btw the clean channel is a sweetie...with the 5Mvac signal going in at the input i couldn't get it to clip until i went past mid position of the treble pot...but

for the most part a nice little amp...i just think it might need some more LOVE ...

My amp doesn't have any "issues", pal.

And it's been "battle-tested" on stage over a hundred times thus far.

You and your VK and your SS22 can go pound sand.

mine either now that i fixed them....had the same speaker in a fender vibrosonic (horrid silverface twin with the 15" played chet/steel through it for years...only issue with...heavy and i lived on the third floor...4 nights a week hauled it

many people think my right arm is longer for too many weird reasons....VK's Super reverbs with JBL (ice pick anyone cleans out a bakersfield bar easy ....) twins with JBL's...long right arm and floppy wrists.

supersonic kills just new construction garbage to deal with the VK is a mauler more on that on the thread...lifted the old broad off the couch from the first floor today for the 1.5 second wife's home VK above 6 test...

i was pleased very pleased (had i put it on 8 i could have vibrated her but into the fan..rotating 19ft above her....

tomorrow (she bought beer this evening...gotta keep her around)

naw i hear ya...that's why i played GOOD boogies for decades with rivera's (55/12 and incredibly sweet off the shelf amp i sold my boogies and bought many rivieras kind'a lost the fender love for a bit...then went back to the sound

but ya can't fix the new ones on the side of the tour bus...eh? when a part craps....radio shack...ha ha ha..find one with a crap 100K higher in wattage than an 1/8th

that is why my drri bleck is now on the heap and waiting for a stuffed board (too lazy()

but i hear where you are coming from ...so i will go cuddle with my stolen 5751's jans and sleep tight tonight knowing there s a b52 missing some tubes somewhere.......

A different point of view...

I have a standard Super-Sonic 22. I think it's rather good as-is. I can't think of anything particular to change on it to make it more "ultimate." If Fender have done a good job, why tinker? Sure we could all change things to suit personal preference, but that's different to "ultimate."
