Bill,

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the "rectifier" consist of four diodes and not four capacitors? Last I checked a rectifier circuit was either a tube or two to four diodes depending on whether it was half or full bridge.

Sorry to butt in, but I think Bluesky meant CR 14 though 17. CR refers to crystal rectifier = silicone diodes,

Thanks BMW2002Ti, it all makes sense now. I've always taken C to refer to capacitors or capacitance. Glad you cleared it up though, would hate for the op to start checking the wrong components.

The letter "D" has always worked fine to denote a diode on a schematic, whether silicone, germanium, selenium, or even a zener. I'm not not sure why some braniacs decided to change it only on some schematics. :roll:
