Hi there! Does Anybody know the difference between the SS Amps Deluxe 85 and Eighty-Five (except from his size and number of red knobs)? I´m considering to buy a second hand Deluxe 85, but I have played in a Eighty-Five and I´ve found its sounds awesome. I´m wondering if it´s there any difference between the sound from these amps, or simply are the same thing. Thanks in advance!

Play the Deluxe 85 and let your ears decide.

The main difference between the two amps is the Deluxe 85 has a second channel and a slightly larger cab I believe too.

The Deluxe 85:

Channel One was the Clean: Vol, Treb, Bas.

The Deluxe and Deluxe 85 both share the same "Gain Channel": Gain, Bass, Master, Treb, Limiter, Presence, Rev and Vol.

Both had 65 Watts with a 12 inch Eminence Speaker. Pretty much sound the same on the Drive Channel.

Thank you all for your answers! Before making a test sound on the Deluxe 85 I should appreciate more details about the sound of this amp (clean channel in eighty-five it´s simply amazing!!) I have another question: Is it difficult to work with two channels in paralell? I´ve heard that some settings could be tedious.

Kind regards!

Not sure why you would want to do that or if it is possible on the Deluxe 85 and since it has two channels and channel switching, (via a footswitch) not sure you need to.

Try the amp out and make sure you give it a real once over if you are going to buy it. They are relatively reliable amps and have a good sound. These are in fact the first time Fender made successful solid state amps. They sold well and had good tone. They won't approach a big heavy metal level of distortion, but if you love a decent rock or blues tone, these are fairly versatile amps.

Hello again! I´ve finally bought a Fender Deluxe 85 and I´m very happy with it. Its clean channel sounds amazing, and the Drive channel fits perfect to me; but I am trying to learn how to work with two channels in paralell. Does anybody know where can I find an owner´s manual from this amp? I´ve looked for a pdf file through the web but I cannot find it. Thanks in advance!

I don't see any online but if it is available, Fender may send you a PDF file of the manual. Ask them at this email address. It helps to have your serial number and model number as well as patience. They are very busy after the Christmas season.
