Just wandering about the reliability you folks might have with this amp? Thinkin' about using it for a Ricky 360-12. Art

Thanks for the reply, Louis. I'm thinking about using the amp for practice and maybe playing at church. Just looking for something that I can leave up there. Also, in a year or so I will give it to my grandson, for his first amp. Seems like it would be versatile and easy to use for my boy? Also I'm thinking it would be loud enough for him. Art

A "static" deployment is likely the best use for this amp. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with them, quite the contrary. They were designed and built quite solidly. However, they're now also very "long in the tooth" and many of the specific parts used for this chassis are no longer made or available. A good example is the chorus module -- these haven't been manufactured in over twelve years now and it's what sidelines a lot of the original chorus models. The less vibration from loading/unloading and transit, the better. If you find a good one, play it from the standpoint that when you switch it off after a gig, it may be the last time it ever plays (an acquaintance of mine has had a dead Ultimate Stereo Chorus in his closet since 2001). They don't sound much like a traditional Fender tube platform but they do sound pretty good. They had a long run in the catalog and were Fender's top-selling model for several years.

That might be the wisest course of action, Art.

I'm sure you're right, Arjay, about waiting on the young boy(and the amp choice)!!! Actually, I use a Genz Benz for acoustic, and the Ricky does quite well through it. Thanks guys!!! Art
