I have a Fender Sidekick Reverb 20 with a blown speaker, No where (even Fender) I look even talks about this model. I have no idea other then 10" what the ohms or wattage should be, Dont want to spend a fortune, Probably buy a decent used amp cheaper. Any one know the specs or have a manual would be much appreciated.

You will find scant references at best for the Sidekick series amps. They were issued at a very bleak time in Fender's storied history and most fans of the company would just as soon ignore them altogether. I had a Sidekick Switcher way back when -- it was a very reliable amp and I'm sorry I ever sold it off. Your Sidekick is a 20-watt amp: thus, a speaker rated for 35 to 50 watts will work just fine. You'll need to ascertain what impedance is required. If the voice coil is still intact, disconnect the wires to the amp and measure across the speaker terminals with a DVM to determine how many ohms. I'm guessing it uses an 8 but 4 or even 16 are certainly a possibility.

Best of luck, HTH

You apparently did not try very hard. Some first post of yours. You can use an 8 ohm speaker. It is from the Rivera era and it is made in Japan. I would guess it's 20 watts. Hard guess.

According to John Morrish's book "The Fender Amp Book" it is 20 watts, it was made from 1983-85. It did have a 10 inch speaker and was an 8 Ohm Speaker, was made by Fender Japan. Here is a website with a speaker pic...fuzzy but clearly shows 8 ohms.

http://en.audiofanzine.com/guitar-combo ... 76005.html

According to this website, Fender has a schematic (should show the speaker ohms on it)...so send an e-mail to consumerrelations@fender.com They will be able to send you a pdf file with the schematic...for future reference.

By the way I have the Sidekick Reverb 25. 35, 65, etc...owners manuals and it does not tell the speakers ohm rating for any of these amps.

There are many Sidekick amps listed in the archives, and you can request manual and schematics from Fender. Are you sure that it is a "Sidekick Reverb 20"? That one is not listed, but a "Sidekick Reverb 25", "SK 20/ SKC 20", and a "SK 20 Watt Chorus" all are listed.

Shimmy...yeah as I was looking at the Owners Manual I have, I saw the Sidekick 25 Reverb, not the 20 Reverb and just confused the two...but the John Morrish info and other website info is correct. Thnxs

Given Fender tolerances, an 8 ohm speaker should be playing it safe. Optimal performance is another conversation. A 25 watt Weber 10" ceramic speaker is $32.00. I think that is a cheaper investment than any possible amp.
